Heard this line in a movie, fell in love with it. It falls perfectly in line with everything happening all over the world, including Pakistan:

"A people should not be afraid of their goverment. The governement should be afraid of its people"

Very few people have gone far back enough to nitice, but the reason this blog actually started, four years ago in 2002 - was because of the increased tension in the palistinean / Israel situation. It was a place where not only could i express my voice but i where i could discuss my political and philosophical opinions with others and with the voices inside my head.

Along the years, i started college, i followed the issues less as i got involved in college life and the highs and lows that come with it - the blog well - it seemed to follow suit. It became diluted, and you can see that in the writing. In its final days - it became a place where i posted nothing but song lyrics and interesting quotes - and then finally it died.

Im sitting in front of the TV tuned into CNN. In the last week iv seen well coordinated bomb blasts rip through the transportation life support of India. Iv seen bomb blasts on my side of the border, in MY city, and i can feel it in my bones that things are going to get worse.

Now im watching Israel follow the actions of its big brother, as it decides to combine the terrorist organizations that exist within a country with the people at large of that country itself. It takes terrorist actions (which i in no way support) as an excuse to use its superior military power to bring an entire city to a standstill. It is confusing the actions of Hezbollah as the actions of the Army of Lebanon and is viewing it as a direct aggression by Lebanon. This is the same confusion that the United States twisted in its own favor by first entering Afghanistan and taking control of the country and then choosing to try the Mujahideen their not as Prisoners of War but as armed terrorists.

There can be absolutely no justification for bombing hospitals, open roadways, and the airport. I consider myself a moderate individual - and if the bombings that Hezbollah started had been returned through direct action by Israel by striking known Hezbollah targets - i could accept it as a country attempting to protect its borders. Not only that i would also accept that in todays modern warfar civilian casualties are almost necessary.

But to target very clearly CIVILIAN localities and to turn them into targets - there is no justification for acts of aggression such as this. Israels statement is that the bombings are to "pressurize" Hezbollah to give up their arms. Im not a political scientist, but does anyone think that their strategy is really going to work?

Very clearly - when Israel made the statement:
"We will put you back twenty years."
They were looking for much more then a precision strike on Hezbollah - they were looking for all out war.

Breaking News: Hezbollah has proclaimed these attacks by Israel as an invitation for open war. In reply they have accepted this invitation and have declared Open War against Israel.

In my heart i pray that God will give peace to all the men and women who have died today, and yesterday, and the day before. Ameen.
