we see men of wit in their twilights
faring into the sea with much fanfare
where once they ventured forth with a quiet word and a scything eye
and a bagful of honesty
I saw them, love, fighting the tides at five in the morning
While I rubbed sleep from my eyes
And heard one of them sing
‘…sea of green.’
Laughing freemen.
